A native of Madrid, Spain, she has lived in the US since 1983. She holds a Master of Arts in English and a PhD in Spanish. She is a New Mexico and Federally Certified Court Interpreter, with over twenty years of experience in legal and conference interpreting. She is self-employed and working full time as court interpreter and translator. She has developed and taught senior level courses in translation and a seminar in court interpreting. She has conducted training workshops for candidates seeking NM state court interpreter certification, under the direction of the New Mexico Administrative Office of Courts. Additionally, she is certified by the American Translators Association as a translator from English into Spanish and has translated over 60 titles of children/juvenile lietarture. Her personal pursuits include among others, reading, weaving, and hiking. She has lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 2008.
