I am a translator, interpreter and terminologist. I was born in the USA, raised in Mexico, and currently live in Puerto Rico (there are worse things in life than living in a tropical island). I have a Graduate Diploma in Translation from El Colegio de Mexico and a Master’s in Terminology from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. I have worked in terminology research, developing specialized dictionaries, and as a lecturer in terminology; I am currently an instructor in the English On-line Terminology Graduate Course given by IULA. I am a US Federal Court certified interpreter and ATA certified translator. I am a freelancer and work as a contract interpreter with the Puerto Rico Federal Court, the US District Attorney’s Office, and also work with the US Department of State as a contract translator and conference level interpreter. I am a member of ATA, NAJIT and IAPTI, and a Charter Member of the National Language Service Corps. I am a producer and voting member in the F43 Committee of ASTM, working on drafting standards for translation and interpreting. I will be giving a presentation at the Conference, I hope to see you there!
