BIOGRAPHY
Sergio Viaggio was born in Buenos Aires and got his MA in Russian Language and Literature in Moscow. Between 1974 and 2005 Sergio worked as a translator, interpreter and Chief Interpreter with the UN. He has lectured extensively in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa, and written some fifty articles and papers plus A General Theory of Interlingual Mediation in which he proposes the most comprehensive theory and model of translation to date. Founding member and first Vice President of the European Society of Translation Studies, Sergio is also an Honorary Member of IAPTI and AATI, Honorary Professor of Vic University and Doctor Honoris Causa in Letter by Bath University.
