OmegaT, a free CAT tool for professional translators (live review)
Originally developed by Keith Godfrey in 2000 and currently developed by a team led by Didier Briel, OmegaT is a software tool intended for professional translators. Its features include customisable segmentation using regular expressions, translation memory with fuzzy matching and match propagation, glossary matching, dictionary matching, translation memory and reference material searching, and inline spell-checking using Hunspell spelling dictionaries.
BIOGRAPHY
Hector is a Chilean translator holding a degree in English Language from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Over the years, Hector has gained expertise in a number of software tools to manage terminology, corpora and translation memories and he is an active member of the OmegaT user community. He is also Head of IAPTI’s Chile Chapter.
