Things are shaping up for IAPTI2018

Things are shaping up for IAPTIĀ“s 5th conference in Valencia on 29-30 September 2018! The literary translator Emily Wilson will be there to give us her perspective as the first woman to translate The Odyssey into English. You can also meet the author of the famous "red book" of medical terminology and cofounder of Cosnautas, Fernando Navarro, who will be giving a workshop and a presentation in Spanish. The veteran linguistics sage David Crystal will also be paying us a virtual visit to share his latest thoughts with us. You can also opt to join workshops for professional, experienced translators and interpreters the day before the conference in addition to the conference presentations themselves, which are aimed at a similar audience, including advice as regards the business side, new technology and of course improving our work.
All of this will be against the backdrop of Spain’s vibrant, bilingual city of Valencia, with cultural and leisure options to break the ice and chat more freely with your professional colleagues from around the world as you enjoy the contemporary and ancient sights, cuisine and life of this beautiful city by the Mediterranean. Don’t forget your camera! A conference not to be missed.
If you have a useful, interesting presentation to share, feel free to send your abstract to spainconference@iapti.org by 20 January 2018 for consideration. (More information here.)
