Psycholinguistic perspective refers to the cognitive dimension concerning the stages of various types of interpreting, starting from the initiation of the mental processes in the very first moments of the process, and the phases of meaning assembly through top-down, bottom-up and interactive processes as the text unfolds itself, and going on with the scaffolding of the discourse of the message in the target language, leading to the delivery of information during the simultaneous, consecutive and/or dialogue interpreting. Thus in a nutshell, this paper which will address, in both scientific and experiential terms, some of these cognitive processes, taking place at various phases of this complex process and going on with the delivery of the message by the interpreter and finally ending up with its reception by the audience, targets developing more understanding as to the stages of the process, which will help structuring the training methods in a better way.
