Websites, Facebook, blogs, Twitter, web 2.0 design, mobile apps… Today’s world seems to be very much focused on the internet and the latest gadgets. Are you feeling lost but still determined to make the most of it and be smashing?
In this presentation, the speaker will draw on her own experience as a case study, to explain:
‐ How she created a business name: she will be touching on the process of choosing one, what it should sound/look like and why, based on experiences, preferences, life benchmarks or simply passions;
‐ How she created a logo: with the help of a skilled professional designer, which is always advisable, she identified where she wanted her identity to go and opted for the right colour palette, font, impact, message;
‐ How to create an online persona, coordinating the name with the logo and activities, especially on social media and through other online means.
She will also touch on what a branded stationery set should be focused on – and what it shouldn’t – as well as the main features of a good website, including some examples, rights and wrongs and tips on what a page should look like, i.e. catchy, functional and smart, yet approachable for the user.
The presentation will mention marketing activities, such as creating branded items, online contests and further examples. Finally, some hints on how to enhance your visibility without being a marketing guru: ideas, strategies and suggestions on how to use social media, e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. These can be used in synergy to engage the audience with interesting and relevant content, activities, contests, etc. When combined with catchy design and the right communication strategies, online tools for freelancers in the translation and interpreting industry are the perfect way to gain more visibility and enhance the profile of a skilled linguist online.
Target: newcomers and more seasoned attendants alike. Being established does not mean there is no need for a business logo, just as being young or an industry newcomer does not necessarily imply easy familiarity with websites and social media. While ideally targeting professionals who are looking to create their identity and online presence from scratch, the presentation can be valuable to anyone who wants to reinforce or revamp his/her existing branding or simply get some design and marketing inspiration.
