The struggle to keep prices (and hence, earnings) at least steady \u2013 if not to push them higher \u2013 is a recurring theme in discussions amongst translation companies and freelancers alike. Translators and interpreters must defend their position in a truly global market often characterized by predatory competition.<\/p>\n
We will discuss what translation companies and freelancers can do \u2013 together and for themselves \u2013 in order to achieve a better market position. In this context, we will look at the benefits of specialisation as a means of establishing a \u2018level playing field\u2019 for language service providers vis-\u00e0-vis their customers.<\/p>\n
